Massy Wood is recruiting for an Accounting Assistant (Payable) for our Debe, Trinidad office.

 Overview / Responsibilites

  • Support the recording of financial transactions to facilitate the preparation of monthly management accounts in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Manage vendor inquiries promptly and professionally to ensure efficient resolution.
  • Conduct quarterly vendor reconciliations to verify accuracy, maintain compliance, and align financial records.
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the balance sheet by ensuring accurate entries, timely reconciliation, and comprehensive analysis of general ledger accounts.
  • Contribute to the monthly financial close process.
  • Enter financial data into reporting systems with precision and efficiency.
  • Post journal entries to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide required reports to external auditors.
  • Prepare account analyses as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting/Finance or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Level II.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Upholds the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Effectively prioritizes tasks and performs well in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Encourages and inspires teamwork while being receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Continuously seeks opportunities for improvement and ensures accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Actively promotes and adheres to safety and security protocols.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and financial software applications.
  • Valid Certificate of God Character(must not be olde than 6 months)
  • Preference will be given to national Citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad and Tobago
