Sawmill Operator

We are looking for a Sawmill Operator.

Job Summary

We are seeking a hardworking and safety-conscious individual to support the efficient operation of our sawmill. The successful candidate will assist with receiving, handling, cutting, sorting, stacking, and preparing lumber while ensuring adherence to safety standards and maintaining a clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, unload, and organize lumber for processing.
• Feed lumber into saws and assist with production operations.
• Sort, stack, bundle, and prepare finished lumber for dispatch.
• Maintain production flow and support achievement of daily targets.
• Conduct basic equipment inspections and report defects or maintenance needs.
• Assist with housekeeping activities, including removal of sawdust and debris.
• Package sawdust and other by-products as required.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.

Qualifications & Experience

• Secondary school education required.
• NCTVET certification or other technical/vocational training is an asset.
• Previous experience in a sawmill, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or industrial environment would be an advantage.
• Experience operating power tools or industrial equipment is desirable.

Physical Requirements
