Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor who will be responsible for the effective management of its raw material stores.

The ideal candidate plays a critical role in implementing and maintaining best practices, standards and policies relating to the receiving, storage, inventory control and issuance of production materials to ensure manufacturing continuity. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, minimizing losses due to damage or expiration and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.  

Core Functions

Inventory Control

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the warehouse; measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities.
  • Perform daily/weekly stock counts and reconciliation, investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate and up to date inventory; use systems to maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct audits of operations and take corrective action as is necessary to ensure the efficiency of the warehouse operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce losses and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Receival and Inspection

  • Verify incoming raw materials against purchase orders for quality and quantity, ensuring proper labelling and documentation.

Storage Management

  • Ensure materials are stored correctly (e.g., temperature control, FIFO – First In, First Out) to minimize waste and degradation.
  • Manage, organize and maintain warehouse area to optimize workflows, layout efficiency and warehouse space.

Production Support

  • Issue materials to production based on schedules, maintaining high availability while preventing overstocking.
  • Coordinate with production to align material availability with production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve material discrepancies, quality issues or supply chain disruptions.

Safety and Compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP, HACCP, ISO, etc.).
  • Ensure full adherence to and compliance with all safety (food and physical), quality, environmental, regulatory standards and protocols.

People Management

  • Supervise warehouse staff including manpower assessment, scheduling and coordinating training.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the team and conduct performance evaluations.

Minimum Requirement: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position with proven experience in warehouse operations, inventory control or supply chain; experience in manufacturing or food industries would be an asset.
  • PMP or Supply Chain certification would be an asset.
  • Excellent human relations, communication, time management, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in computerized systems, warehouse/inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Oracle would be an asset.
  • Highly professional, ethical and of integrity.
  • Required to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting, standing for extended periods and manual handling.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain an orderly and efficient workspace.
