WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

 

Job Title:           Warehouse Supervisor

Department:      Warehouse/ Operations

Reports To:       Warehouse Manager

 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Supervision and Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Deputize in the Warehouse Manager’s absence.

 

  1. Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily warehouse activities, including container receival, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
    • Implement and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Helps to organize the staff to unload containers.
    • Checks off items unloaded off containers, when on duty, and liaises with Purchasing Manager regarding shortages and overages.
    • Helps to supervise the speedy scanning process of items to be received into stock

 

  1. Inventory Control:
    • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels.
    • Implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and losses.
    • Collaborate with other departments to address inventory-related issues and optimize stock levels.
    • Maintains the BIN ID system in the warehouse by overseeing the process.

 

  1. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and enforce quality control standards for incoming and outgoing shipments.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with, AEO Status,  safety regulations and company policies.
    • Address and resolve any quality issues promptly and effectively.

 

  1. Performance Metrics:
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure warehouse efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
    • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to meet or exceed performance targets.

 

  1. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Coordinate and oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, ensuring proper functioning and addressing issues promptly.
    • Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule routine inspections and repairs.

 

  1. Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety regulations and best practices to maintain a secure and accident-free workplace.
    • Stay current with industry regulations and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

 

  1. Communication:
    • Effectively communicate with other departments, and transportation partners to optimize logistics processes.
    • Provide regular reports and updates to the Warehouse Manager on key performance metrics and operational challenges.

 

  1. Delivery and Logistics:
    • Manage the delivery and logistics process.

 

Other:

  1. Performs other duties required as instructed by the Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager or the Managing Director.

 

 JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Academic Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or similar role.

 

 

Skills/abilities/attributes:

  1. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  2. In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
  3. Familiarity with safety regulations and quality standards.
  4. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  5. Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
  6. Is able to perceive and resolve potential or existing problems objectively and provide fast and feasible solutions to problems.
  7. Is highly motivated, credible, confident, and pays close attention to details.
