The Business & Employment Centre is recruiting on behalf of one our clients for the role of Warehouse Manager. This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to manage the warehouse team.

Job Title : Warehouse Manager

Job Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations Management:

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, offloading containers and shipping of goods.

• Coordinate and supervise the activities of warehouse staff to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.

• Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes, optimizing layout and workflows for improved productivity.

• Enforce bin management and storage protocols to ensure proper stock placement and layout efficiency.

• Manage and support warehouse staff, including drivers and pickers, ensuring optimal productivity.

• Work closely with purchasing to manage inventory control to ensure accurate stock levels and prevent discrepancies or stockouts.

Delivery & routing Management:

• Plan and coordinate daily delivery schedules and routing based on volume, geography, and efficiency.

• Supervise driver and assistants, ensuring all orders are correctly loaded, checked and signed off.

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections, report and track maintenance issues, and ensure adherence to the preventative maintenance schedule.

• Investigate and report any delivery failures, damages, or exceptions, and support resolution where necessary.

Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts and blind counts to reconcile with system data. • Oversee stock replenishment, order picking, and shipping to meet production and delivery schedules.

• Implement and monitor inventory tracking systems to ensure the accuracy of stock levels and movements.

• Conduct and sign off on all inbound receiving processes, verifying quantities against packing list and internal transfer documents.

• Ensure damaged or returned goods are immediately quarantined and documented.

• Report any receiving and transfer discrepancies within required timelines.

Staff Supervision & Development:

• Supervise all warehouse shift staff and provide hands – on direction during peak periods.

• Train and manage warehouse personnel to ensure high levels of productivity and adherence to safety guidelines.

• Prepare daily tasks assignments and ensure proper shift coverage, including weekends.

• Enforce safety protocols related to lifting, forklift operation. PPE use and equipment handling.

• Support onboarding, on the job training and coaching warehouse and drivers team members.

• Foster a team-oriented environment, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Escalate disciplinary matters to HR or the Office Manager as needed.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and local regulations

• Ensure warehouse standards of cleanliness, visual order, safety and security are consistently upheld.

• Conduct regular safety audits, reporting and addressing any hazards or safety issues promptly.

• Implement best practices for handling materials, hazardous substances, and operating warehouse equipment safely.

Equipment and Maintenance Management:

• Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure the warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc, are repaired in a timely manner.

• Ensure all warehouse equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions for timely repair.

Reporting and Communication:

• Maintain and report key performance metrics (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving efficiency.

• Communicate regularly with other departments (e.g., production, purchasing, customer service) to ensure the timely availability of materials and products.

• Prepare and present reports to senior management regarding warehouse performance and challenges. 8. Continuous Improvement:

• Analyze warehouse processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and warehouse management technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field (preferred).

• Proven experience (5+ years) in warehouse management, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of inventory management software and systems (SAP).

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• In-depth understanding of safety regulations and best practices.

• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain (if required).
