The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient, safe, and compliant management of the company’s warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of office furniture and related products. The role ensures inventory accuracy, staff supervision, workplace safety

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of office furniture, stationery & supplies.
  • Ensure proper handling of bulky and heavy furniture items to prevent damage and injury.
  • Coordinate deliveries to Montego Bay branch and customers, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch.
  • Maintain optimal warehouse layout and space utilization.

Inventory Management

  • Ensure accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and reconciliation.
  • Investigate and report stock variances, damages, and losses.
  • Implement proper stock rotation and storage practices to prevent deterioration.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Operations & Inventory teams to manage stock availability.

Staff Supervision & Labour Compliance

  • Supervise warehouse staff including Warehouse Supervisors, Warehouse Team Lead, Warehouse Delivery Supervisor, Warehouse Coordinator, Warehouse Drivers, Warehouse/ Delivery Attendants
  • Prepare staff work schedules including delivery routes, overtime, and rest periods.
  • Ensure compliance with the Employment (Termination and Redundancy Payments) Act, Holidays with Pay Act, and internal HR policies.
  • Provide on-the-job training and performance guidance to warehouse staff.
  • Address minor disciplinary issues and escalate serious matters to HR in accordance with company procedures.

Health, Safety & Security

  • Enforce workplace safety standards in line with the Factories Act, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements, and company policies.
  • Ensure all equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, racking systems) is used safely and maintained properly.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure staff wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report and investigate workplace accidents and near misses in collaboration with HR.
  • Maintain warehouse security and safeguard company assets.

Administration & Reporting

  • Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, damages, staffing, and warehouse performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, returns, and stock movements.
  • Liaise with HR, Finance, and Management regarding staffing, overtime, and operational needs.

Customer & Business Support

  • Support customer service by ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate special deliveries, installations, or bulk orders as required.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Perform any other duties as required

 

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably in furniture, retail, or distribution.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Training or certification in warehouse management, logistics, or inventory control is an asset.
