We're hiring a Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse within a hardware retail environment. This includes receiving, storing, and dispatching goods efficiently and accurately. The role ensures that the warehouse is well-organized, inventory is properly managed, deliveries are timely, and health and safety standards are upheld. The Warehouse Manager also supervises staff, coordinates with suppliers, and supports overall store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations:

  • Supervise the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.

  • Ensure the warehouse is organized and stock is properly labeled, shelved, and rotated.

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and manage stocktakes to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Implement and maintain warehouse policies and standard operating procedures.

Inventory Control:

  • Monitor stock levels and work closely with the purchasing team to replenish inventory.

  • Ensure proper documentation and data entry for all inventory movements.

  • Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions to reduce stock variances.

Staff Supervision:

  • Lead a team of Warehouse Attendants, Forklift Operators, and Delivery Drivers.

  • Develop schedules, assign tasks, and monitor productivity.

  • Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations.

Deliveries & Logistics:

  • Coordinate the dispatch and delivery of goods to customers in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain delivery schedules and ensure all transportation is carried out safely and efficiently.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and internal safety protocols.

  • Conduct routine safety checks and address any potential hazards.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment.

Reporting:

  • Generate and review warehouse performance reports.

  • Report on damaged goods, delivery issues, and overall operational performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse or logistics management role, preferably in the hardware or retail sector.

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control software.

  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • On-site role with regular physical activity, including walking, lifting, and operating equipment.

  • Standard business hours with occasional extended shifts during peak periods.
