Oversees daily warehouse operations, ensuring timely inventory processing. Prepares staff schedules, trains on machinery use, enforces safety standards, and handles planning, reporting, and organizational tasks to maintain efficient storage and shipment workflows.

Key expectations from job position

  • Maintains a friendly disposition and provides delightful, customer service everyday
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations in a timely manner.  Oversee the receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of inventory items to ensure timely and accurate delivery to stores ensuring cost-effective and timely transportation of goods.
  • Manage the receiving of all incoming containers in a timely manner according to company procedure. Lead and optimize the receiving process for all incoming containers in partnership with the inventory team, aligning operations with company procedures and driving continuous improvement in efficiency and accuracy.
  • Setup layout of warehouse and ensure efficient space utilization.
  • Oversee proper use and maintenance of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock. Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and coordinate with the inventory and purchasing team to prevent overstock, stockouts, and discrepancies.
  • Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment while keeping up to date on the latest safety regulations. Enforce adherence to OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse operation. Identify inefficiencies in workflows and propose and implement process improvements to optimize warehouse operations.
  • Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees.  Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff. Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Exemplify and ensure associates comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with our Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Level of Education, skills and training required for the job:

  • A Minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar position.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain fundamentals and Warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of computerized Warehouse Management System would be an asset.
  • Computer Literacy, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite & ERP software experience, preferably Microsoft Dynamic, Business Central.
  • Customer Service Orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL COMPETENCIES

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to create and maintain high standards of visual presentation for products.
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to pull, push lift objects weighing 20lbs.
  • Ability to lift and carry medium to large items several feet, weighing up to 75 pounds, while utilizing appropriate equipment.
  • Availability to work weekend days and entire holiday season (especially October to December) under shift schedule.
