The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for the accurate receiving, safe handling, storage, and dispatching of goods within the warehouse. This role emphasizes inventory accuracy, proper packaging, maintenance of a safe workspace, and quality control of all incoming goods.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Receiving and Quality Control

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments, including containers with steel doors, faucets, sinks, and other inventory.
  • Inspect goods for damage and conduct quality control checks for cracks, chips and other damages, especially on fragile items such as ceramics and glass.
  • Verify quantities received against invoices or delivery notes.
Inventory & Stock Management
  • Organize, label, and store products in designated areas for ease of access to retail staff.
  • Conduct weekly stock counts and report discrepancies, ensure that management is aware of orders to be placed.
  • Ensure all goods are packaged, labeled, and identified accurately.
  • Unpack goods promptly to support efficient restocking.
Dispatch & Handling
  • Prepare/ pack orders for dispatch according to company standards.
  • Support the Logistics Specialist with deliveries or customer pickups when required.
  • Safely operate warehouse tools and equipment as necessary.
Warehouse Upkeep
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the warehouse, including proper disposal of boxes and waste materials.
  • Keep aisles, shelves, and equipment in orderly condition to ensure safe, non-restrictive movement of staff and goods.
  • Report maintenance needs and assist with general upkeep tasks as needed.

 Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety procedures, especially when using lifting equipment.
  • Exercise caution when handling fragile materials such as ceramics and glass items.
  • Support a safe environment despite hot warehouse conditions; utilize fans and recommended safety practices.

Education, Knowledge and Experience:

  1. At least 3 CXC (or equivalent) passes, including Mathematics & English.
  2. Entry-level candidates are welcome; prior warehouse experience (1–2 years) is an asset but not required. If you do not have experience, training will be provided for you.
  3. Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse machinery (pallet jack, trolleys, manual pulley systems) is an asset.
  4. Basic knowledge of tools or minor repairs (example, minimal plumbing for faucets) is an advantage.
  5. Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items such as steel doors, faucets, sinks, and ceramic/glass products.
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling, packaging and stock management.
  7. Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Excel/ knowledge of other inventory systems) is an asset.
