Job Title: VAS and Billing Engineer

 

 

Primary objective of the job: 

 

The VAS and Billing Engineer is expected to deploy the most technologically advanced solutions for charging data, voice, and value-added services while achieving core KPIs, ensuring optimal customer experience and service, and providing accurate, high-quality BSS services.

 

           

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the availability of the prepaid and postpaid billing system, charging, mediation, products and support systems and reporting to Head of VAS and Billing
  • Service provisioning for subscriber MSISDN/IMSI, bills generations and recharge vouchers, are supervised and maintained as per SLAs
  • Carry operational routines and upgrades, to ensure KPIs and SLAs are met and capacity management is carried out, to ensure the smooth running of promotions and product rollouts. You would also be asked to ensure reports are available upon request
  • Ensure dashboards are available for monitoring all systems and processes
  • Ensure design documents are available and maintained via the document management process
  • Continuously seeks and capitalizes on opportunities to exceed the expectations of customers (internal and external), by placing a keen interest in understanding and effectively resolving customer-impacting issues in a professional and result-oriented manner
  • Coordinate and communicate with key external stakeholders, such as service development, business risk, network capacity and design teams, to ensure necessary capacity planning for new system deployments, upgrades, and incident management is carried out with support of the Head of Department
  • Setup, test and rollout/update rating/products/promotions
  • Function and support in the Commercial, Operations and Billing areas, this would be assigned by HOD and Senior Engineer
  • Participate and lead cross functional squads/teams

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • B.Sc. Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Engineering or Computer Science, Software Engineering
  • Expertise in OS/DB Management and Telecom/IT protocols
  • Excellent understanding of network interface protocols, GSM online charging protocols
