User Support Officer Intern

Our client is a leading retail organization that operates a network of supermarkets and provides a wide range of food and household products to customers across Jamaica. The company relies on modern information systems to support its retail operations, supply chain management, and customer service functions, and is committed to continuously improving its technology infrastructure to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Position Summary
The User Support Officer Intern will support the Business Systems Department in maintaining the stability and efficiency of the organization’s information systems. The intern will assist with monitoring and supporting business applications, troubleshooting system issues, and helping users across the organization maximize the effectiveness of IT systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support to users experiencing issues with business applications and systems

  • Assist with troubleshooting software and hardware problems

  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of business applications

  • Participate in the review, upgrade, and improvement of internal applications

  • Assist with performing system configuration, mapping, and management tasks

  • Help conduct data audits and support quality control measures for system data

  • Assist with implementing vendor-supplied software updates and patches

  • Develop and maintain user training materials and process documentation

  • Liaise with internal departments to identify and resolve system-related issues

  • Support the Business Systems team in recommending improvements to enhance system performance and user experience

     

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field

  • Strong interest in IT systems support, application management, and business technology

  • Basic knowledge of business applications and software troubleshooting

  • IT certifications or technical training would be an asset

  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
