JOB OVERVIEW:
The Underwriter II is required to manage the risk exposure of the company from its core business, ensuring that it yields a profit while achieving the targeted gross income and market share, managing relationships with third party providers and achieving customer excellence. He/she is also responsible for the timely collections of premiums

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
1.    Conduct risk assessment/appraisal of both complex and non-complex new business and renewal risks which includes accepting or declining the risk, determining terms and conditions, quoting premiums and excesses – All lines of business 

2. Liaise with the overseas partners to place Facultative Insurance and Special Acceptance Insurance

3. Sales management to build relationships with brokers, agents, and internal staff, daily. 

4. Manage receivables in accordance 

5. To perform any other job related duties as assigned by the Team Leader/Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
⦁    5 CXC/CSEC Passes including Mathematics and English Language 
⦁    2 A’ Level/ CAPE  passes 
⦁    CII - Diploma Level or pursuing same 
⦁    ⦁    Minimum of 5 years underwriting experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: 
The Underwriter II must be self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and be able to work with minimum supervision. They must display a strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. They must possess a positive, friendly attitude, be focused and goal oriented while maintaining professionalism.
