Job Summary
The Trade Marketing Officer is responsible for coordinating and supporting the execution of trade marketing activities across Trinidad and all assigned export markets. The role focuses on ensuring consistent in-store branding, visibility, and activation execution across Hardwares and Colour Shops in line with approved brand guidelines and marketing plans.
The position operates in a professional administrative capacity, requiring independent planning, coordination, and judgment, without responsibility for managing or supervising employees.
Job Responsibilities
Trade Branding & Visibility
- Coordinate the deployment and maintenance of approved branding across Hardwares and Colour Shops in Trinidad.
- Ensure trade partners are adequately branded and aligned with approved brand guidelines and visibility standards.
- Conduct periodic trade audits (physical or virtual) to assess branding compliance, condition, and coverage.
- Identify branding gaps and prepare recommendations for corrective action or enhancement.
- Coordinate with suppliers, installers, and service providers to support branding production and installation
In-Store Execution & Merchandising
- Develop and manage in-store planograms to optimize product placement, space utilization, and shopper experience.
- Oversee execution of signage, point-of-sale materials, and visual merchandising standards across retail and hardware stores.
- Ensure consistent and high-quality execution of brand guidelines at store level.
Campaign & In-Trade Activation Coordination
- Coordinate the execution of trade marketing campaigns, product launches, promotions, and in-store activations across Trinidad.
- Ensure in-trade materials are delivered and executed according to approved plans and market requirements.
- Monitor in-market execution and escalate risks, delays, or deviations as required.
Trade Partner & Commercial Liaison
- Liaise with the Marketing team to align trade marketing execution with customer requirements.
- Engage with trade partners to confirm branding needs, activation readiness, and market-specific considerations.
- Support export market requirements by coordinating trade marketing assets and activation support remotely where applicable.
Reporting, Monitoring & Administration
- Prepare structured reports on branding coverage, activation status, compliance, execution quality and competitor brand presence across all markets.
- Maintain accurate records of trade marketing assets, installations, and campaign activity by market.
- Support post-activation reviews and provide execution insights to inform future planning.
Budget & Asset Coordination
- Assist with monitoring trade marketing spend against approved budgets
- Coordinate the distribution and tracking of POS materials and branding assets by market.
- Support efficient utilisation and control of trade marketing materials.
Decision-Making & Accountability
- Plans and organises daily trade marketing activities across multiple markets within approved strategies and guidelines.
- Exercises professional judgment in prioritising tasks, scheduling market support, and coordinating execution.
- Makes recommendations to management regarding improvements to trade visibility, activation effectiveness, and execution standards.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in trade marketing, retail marketing, or marketing coordination roles
Technical & Professional Skills
- Good understanding of trade marketing, retail environments, and in-store branding
- Strong coordination, planning, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple markets, timelines, and deliverables
- Solid reporting, documentation, and follow-up skills
