Town Planner, Urban Designer, Environmental Report Writer & Project Manager for a wide variety of planning and development projects in Barbados

TOWN PLANNER

Richard Gill Associates Ltd., a leading town planning and development consulting firm in Barbados, has a vacancy for a full-time Town Planner.

The successful candidate will undertake the following duties and tasks:

  • Offer strategic planning and development advice to clients
  • Provide creative design approaches (urban design, subdivision layouts, land use options etc.)
  • Undertake research, report writing, hearing preparations and presentations
  • Preparation and management of planning applications, submissions and compliance matters
  • Regularly interact with the Planning Department, Government agencies and other industry professionals
  • Generating new business and broadening client relationships
  • Support team members and carry out administrative tasks and any other tasks as needed

The successful candidate will:

  • Be self-motivated, willing to learn and be driven to excel
  • Demonstrate strong report-writing, communication and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of planning policy, law and practice
  • Demonstrate effective project management skills and an ability to work under pressure on multiple projects
  • Have a positive and professional attitude to enable confident interactions with colleagues and clients at all levels

Applicants should have at minimum a Bachelor / Masters of Planning (or related) Degree and/or three years professional experience. However, a degree or background in Environmental Engineering (or similar) would also be considered.
