GCG Group Barbados, part of the GCG Group which operates in twenty-one (21) countries across Latin America, the Caribbean and USA. We are seeking to recruit a resourceful, skilled, and highly motivated individual to join the HR team in the capacity of Team Lead – Canteen, reporting to the HR Lead.

This role offers an opportunity to support our HR department’s staff canteen and onsite meetings and events. The candidate will lead in managing the staff canteen including set-up, service, break-down and sanitization. The incumbent will also lead on the set up and management of the boardroom for onsite meetings and the leadership offices.  

Key duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Ensure the service level is maintained and improved for the staff canteen and boardroom for meeting department and stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure the maintenance of a sanitary canteen, boardroom and meeting space and equipment in compliance with Company procedure and local health regulations.
  • Enforce and practice the required quality control procedures and standards, ensuring proper HACCP protocols are observed, and safety and sanitation standards are met at all times.
  • Assist in minimizing loss, waste, and fraud. 
  • Managing the booking of the canteen and meeting room spaces

Qualifications and experience desired for the role:

  • Associates degree in a culinary related programme or
  • 3 years related experience in a food related or restaurant environment with
  • 5 CXC including English and Mathematics or Diploma in a related subject
  • Practical knowledge of food preparation in a kitchen or commercial environment
  • At least one (1) year experience in events management or hospitality
