Temporary Assistant Accountant

The Temporary Assistant Accountant will assist the Accountant in the preparation of timely and accurate financial information and analysis to support the decision-making process of the Executive Management team which meets the group reporting requirements. (Fixed Term Role)

Job Overview

• Analyze financial data and identify trends.
• Develop financial forecasts and models.
• Provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.
• Must be 100% proficient in SAP and AVALARA.
• Be willing to commute between St. Ann and Montego Bay

The selected candidate would be responsible for ensuring that:

• All documents are in accurate accounting data format in accordance with internal and client standards.

• Month-end Close Off deadline is achieved monthly.
•  Month end Management Accounts are accurately completed.
• Budget tracker is completed four (4) days after reporting periods.
• All month-end schedules are completed.
• All reconciliation completed monthly.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of Budgeting, pricing, costing and internal control.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent arithmetic and report writing skills.
• CFA, CMA, or CPA certification is an asset.
• Proficiency in financial software, such as SAP and AVALARA.
• Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
