Technician – Vehicle, forklifts & packaging machinery (Direct to Client)

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities and experience servicing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of forklifts and packaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Diagnose, service, and repair electric, LPG, and diesel forklifts.
• Troubleshoot and repair packaging machinery, including but not limited to:
• Vacuum machines
• Shrink wrap machines
• Heat sealers
• Carton sealing machines
• Liquid filling machines
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and manuals.
• Perform component replacements, adjustments, and calibrations as required.
• Maintain accurate service reports, parts records, and maintenance logs.

Vehicle Fleet Maintenance

• Perform daily inspection checks on company vehicles.
• Maintain vehicle check logs for each vehicle.
• Track and schedule vehicle servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Record all vehicle services, repairs, and maintenance activities in compliance with OSHA safety and record-keeping standards.
• Ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational at all times.

Operational Support

• Assist with company deliveries when required using both Heavy T and non-Heavy T vehicles.
• Provide support when drivers are on leave or when additional transport assistance is required.
• Assist with transporting equipment or dropping off installation teams when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and workspace.
• Work independently and efficiently manage service calls and tasks.
• Adhere to all company health, safety, and operational policies.

Skills & Qualifications

• Certificate or trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (preferred).
• Proven experience servicing forklifts and packaging machinery.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic).
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Valid driver’s license with Heavy T endorsement (required).
• Forklift license (advantageous).
• Ability to maintain structured maintenance and service documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
