Technician Level IV
A leading distributor of machine lubricants and heavy-duty industrial equipment, serving various sectors including mining, construction, agriculture, and transportation is seeking a Technician Level IV to join its Technical Service team.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Perform advanced diagnostic work, equipment and component repairs, failure analysis, and technical projects in both workshop and field environments under indirect supervision
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on heavy-duty equipment and components
Conduct diagnostics, testing, adjustments, and equipment commissioning following repairs
Assemble and disassemble major components and new machines and attachments
Evaluate equipment and components to determine reuse and conduct failure analysis
Complete service reports, documentation, and system entries for internal records and customer delivery
Order required parts and ensure service jobs are completed efficiently and accurately
Ensure adherence to safety standards, contamination control procedures, and the Code of Ethics
Maintain order, cleanliness, and proper use of tools, equipment, and company assets
Supervise and provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians and assistants
Support technical projects, on-site service assignments, and field maintenance activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma with technical training
Caterpillar Technical Level IV certification
Specialization in diesel internal combustion engines and/or electrical systems
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in heavy-duty equipment repairs, including diesel, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems
CORE SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret and use parts and service manuals (e.g. SIS, SIMS, MCFA, COMPASS, JD Parts)
Proficiency in workshop and field service operations
Strong teamwork, communication, and initiative
Ability to work safely in environments with moderate physical demands and operational risks
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to attend ongoing technical training and participate in the Technical Career Plan
Ability to manage tools, systems, and service modules with a high level of accuracy
Flexibility to perform duties in both workshop and field settings
