EY Trinidad is currently recruiting for a Financial Services Manager (Tax) who will join a team that services a portfolio of multiple blue chip financial services companies. 

Your key responsibilities

• Team with key professionals to provide comprehensive tax solutions to our clients in the Financial Services industry
• Maintain and build relationships with clients, manage expectations and ensure outstanding client service
• Direct and monitor engagements, determine resource requirements and budgets
• Research complex tax theory and positions, and apply them to specific client needs
• As you build tax expertise, comprehensive knowledge and reviews of tax case laws and develop opinion papers
• Determine all information required to ensure/complete accurate tax compliance products within the budget
• Formulate plans to effectively gather/communicate information
• Determine areas of exposure and adapt to challenges in the compliance process
• Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations
• Help develop and guide staff and other junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals
• Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderate & complex situations
• Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products
• Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches.

What we look for

• A Bachelor's degree (or higher), preferably with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance, and/ or Professional Certification e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience within a Finance and Accounting environment with some exposure to tax
• An interest in emerging tax issues, with the ability to apply knowledge
• Working knowledge of, or interest in tax laws
