About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure company facilities, equipment, and furnishings remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. This role involves building repairs, carpentry, painting, welding, furniture restoration, and equipment maintenance. The incumbent will support operational efficiency by maintaining restaurant facilities and equipment to established quality, safety, and compliance standards while delivering cost-effective repair and refurbishment solutions.

Key Functions

  • Perform building maintenance, repairs, and structural modifications to ensure our facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
  • Repair and replace ceiling, floor, and wall tiles, delivering high-quality workmanship that enhances the appearance and functionality of our restaurants.
  • Assist with interior and exterior painting to maintain the professional appearance and durability of company properties.
  • Refurbish wooden and metal furniture, extending the life of operational assets through restoration and repairs.
  • Conduct mechanical and structural repairs on pallet jacks, flat bed trolleys, and other equipment to support efficient daily operations.
  • Restore restaurant chairs and tables through carpentry, metalwork, refinishing, and upholstery repairs, reducing replacement costs.
  • Perform welding repairs and custom fabrication to maintain facilities, strengthen structures, and create practical solutions for operational needs.

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, carpentry, painting, welding, and equipment repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Skilled in furniture restoration, fabrication, and facility upkeep.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
  • Physically capable of performing maintenance and repair activities in various work environments.
  • Reliable, proactive, and responsive to operational needs.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel between locations, where required.

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Minimum of three (3) CSEC/GCE subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certification or vocational training in Building Maintenance, Carpentry, Welding, Electrical Installation, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related technical field from a recognized institution (e.g., HEART/NSTA Trust).
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in facilities maintenance, building repairs, or a similar technical role, preferably within a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), manufacturing, or commercial environment.
  • Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute basic technical drawings, measurements, and repair specifications.
