The Social Media & Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the organisation’s marketing, social media, and public relations strategy in order to increase brand awareness, strengthen corporate reputation, and support business growth.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organisation’s social media presence, developing engaging content, and supporting initiatives aimed at increasing brand awareness and driving engagement.
About the Role:
The role requires a strong understanding of marketing communications, public relations principles, and digital engagement strategies, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all platforms.The organisation’s social media presence must be continuously maintained through strategic content creation and distribution across all identified platforms. The role is expected to apply marketing and PR techniques that drive audience engagement, enhance brand visibility, and ensure advertising content effectively reaches target audiences.The position also serves as a liaison for external stakeholders involved in branding and public relations initiatives, including exhibitions, career fairs, corporate events, and executive-level communications as required.
Major Contributing Activities:
- Manage the development, sourcing, and publication of strategic content across Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and the organisation’s website, ensuring alignment with approved marketing and communications calendars for all entities.
- Develop and execute digital advertising campaigns, including programme enrolments, new offerings, corporate announcements, and recruitment campaigns, ensuring alignment with overall marketing objectives.
- Support the continuous development and improvement of the organisation’s social media, marketing, and communications strategy, including proposing innovative approaches to increase reach, engagement, and conversion.
- Support the Chief Executive Officer with marketing and communications content development, including drafting speeches, scripts, presentations, and other executive-level materials as required.
- Conduct research and benchmarking on industry trends, competitor activity, pricing strategies within the education and training sector, new programme offerings, and international best practices in marketing, branding, and communications.
- Monitor, manage, and professionally respond to all social media engagement in a timely manner, ensuring brand reputation is maintained; escalate or remove inappropriate content in line with approved guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and organised records across physical, electronic, and digital systems (including SharePoint), ensuring compliance with internal documentation standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on sales and marketing initiatives, ensuring all presentations, blogs, campaigns, and communications are aligned with brand standards and organisational objectives.
- Design and produce visual content for seasonal campaigns and corporate communications (e.g. Christmas, Independence Day), ensuring timely execution in line with the marketing calendar.
- Capture, curate, and manage high-quality photography and videography across corporate events, employee engagement activities, and external engagements to support ongoing marketing and PR initiatives.
- Represent the organisation at external engagements and industry events, including conferences, networking sessions, and stakeholder meetings, as required.
- Attend and document corporate social responsibility and outreach activities (e.g. environmental initiatives, community events, fundraisers), ensuring effective storytelling for marketing and PR use.
- Provide strategic and operational support to Executive Leadership in relation to marketing, communications, and brand development initiatives as needed.
Pre-Requisites
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Media & Communication Studies or Marketing
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in Public Relations
Knowledge / Competencies:
- Ability to identify communication and marketing needs and translate them into effective strategies and solutions that support business objectives
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Working knowledge of content creation and digital tools, including:
- Photography and videography for professional content production
- Graphic design and branding tools (e.g. Canva or equivalent platforms)
- Website content management systems
- Social media management platforms and digital marketing tools
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining brand consistency and professional standards across all communication channels
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively identify opportunities to improve engagement, visibility, and brand presence
