JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Recruitment and Marketing will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the University’s integrated marketing, student recruitment, enrollment management, public relations and events planning, and corporate communications functions.
The role is responsible for developing and executing a unified, data-driven strategy that strengthens the University’s brand, drives student enrollment growth, enhances retention, and ensures a seamless student lifecycle experience—from prospecting to graduation.
The incumbent will align marketing, public relations, communications, and recruitment initiatives to institutional goals, positioning the University competitively in local, regional, and international markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (including but not limited to)
1. Strategic Leadership and Planning
- Develop and implement an integrated Marketing, Recruitment, and Enrollment Management Strategy aligned to institutional objectives.
- Lead long-term planning for brand positioning, market expansion, and student growth.
- Design and implement the corporate strategy for public relations, events planning and communications
- Analyze market trends, competitor positioning, and enrollment data to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align recruitment targets with academic offerings and institutional capacity, facilitate timely enrolment and maintain student enrolment growth.
- Ensure all relevant Policies and Standard Operating Procedures are documented and updated, as required
- Participates fully in strategic, operational and budget planning processes; quality assurance monitoring and evaluation; accreditation and regulatory activities; compliance with relevant academic, regulatory and data protection standards
2. Recruitment and Enrollment Management
- Lead the design and execution of comprehensive student recruitment and enrollment strategies across undergraduate, graduate, and non-traditional markets.
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle: prospecting, admissions, conversion, enrollment, and retention support.
- Establish and monitor enrollment targets, KPIs, and conversion metrics for all units that offer academic and professional programs.
- Strengthen systems for attracting and retaining a diverse student population.
- Implement a robust strategy for recruiting international students
- Coordinate surveys and data analytics related to recruitment trends and student demographics.
- Support and enhance student retention initiatives in collaboration with academic and student services teams.
3. Marketing and Brand Management
- Direct all marketing strategies, campaigns, and brand management initiatives.
- Ensure a strong and consistent brand identity and positioning across all platforms.
- Oversee the development of:
- Digital marketing campaigns
- Advertising strategies
- Content marketing initiatives
- Recruitment publications and promotional materials
- Lead innovative, customer-driven marketing campaigns to drive engagement and enrollment.
4. Corporate Communications and Public Relations
- Oversee all internal and external communications strategies.
- Manage media relations and act as a primary liaison with media, alumni, and key stakeholders.
- Direct the creation of:
- Press releases
- Institutional publications
- Speeches and presentations
- Student and programme feature stories
- Ensure consistent messaging aligned with the University’s mission and reputation.
5. Digital Marketing and Systems Management
- Oversee the University’s digital presence, including website, social media, and online campaigns.
- Manage marketing databases, CRM systems, and recruitment platforms.
- Utilize analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track performance and optimize campaigns.
- Enhance digital engagement strategies to improve lead generation and conversion rates.
6. Business Development and Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with:
- Schools and educational institutions
- Corporate partners
- Regional and international stakeholders
- Support business development initiatives that expand recruitment pipelines.
- Represent the University at public forums, recruitment fairs, and networking events.
7. Manage key UCC events
- Provide oversight for events planning at UCC, ensuring all procedures and protocols are observed
8. Budgeting and Resource Management
- Develop and manage marketing and recruitment budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and ROI.
- Allocate resources strategically to maximize recruitment and brand impact.
- Negotiate with vendors, agencies, and partners.
9. Team Leadership and Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise teams across:
- Recruitment & Admissions
- Marketing & Communications
- Digital Media & Creative Services
- Establish performance standards, KPIs, and continuous improvement systems.
- Oversee hiring, training, and evaluation of team members.
10. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Academic departments
- Student services
- Finance and operations
- Ensure alignment between programme offerings and market demand.
- Support institutional initiatives that enhance student success and experience.
MANDATORY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. IQA Portfolio (E.g. Operational Plan, KPIs, Monitoring & Evaluation Report, Assessment tools, Risk & Gap Register, Policy and Procedures)
2. Policies and Procedures
(a) Ensure the development of academic policy to ensure QA compliance.
(b) Ensure a process is in place for the development, approval and review of administrative policies andprocedures for improved administrative effectiveness.
(c) Periodically review gaps in policies regarding quality assurance and make recommendations forimprovement and/ or change.
(d) Ensure that institutional Standard Operating Procedures are established, consistently evaluated, updated,implemented and adhered to.
3. IE Dashboards- Updated each semester.
4. All other duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in senior leadership roles within:
- Marketing
- Recruitment / Enrollment Management
- Higher education or professional services
Proven track record in:
- Strategic planning and execution
- Enrollment growth
- Brand development
- Managing large-scale initiatives and budgets
