Active Home Centre, Jamaica’s leading retailer for home finishing products with showrooms in Kingston & Montego Bay, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced social media assistant.

We’re looking for a creative and trend-savvy Social Media Assistant to elevate our online presence. If you’re passionate about creating scroll-stopping content, staying ahead of social media trends, and engaging with a vibrant community, this role is for you!

You'll manage platforms, craft engaging content, track performance, and highlight our products—from tiles to furniture and more—turning inspiration into purchases.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling visually appealing and engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Highlight products such as tiles, bathrooms fixtures, furniture, kitchen and appliances through creative posts, reels, and stories.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster community
    engagement.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics and prepare reports on performance and trends.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and audience preferences.
  • Coordinate with content creators to maintain a cohesive brand aesthetic.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices.
  • Support with influencer collaborations.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience in social media management, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of major social media platforms and their best practices.
  • Basic graphic and video editing skills (Canva, Cap Cut, InShot or similar tools).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Metricool, Meta Business Suite) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or Interior Design.
  • Experience with paid social media advertising.
  • Previous experience in content creation in the home improvement industry is a plus.
