About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Safety Engineer to support a major offshore development project. The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and managing technical safety and HSES risks throughout all project phases. You will provide technical safety guidance, lead safety studies, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting safe and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement technical safety and process safety strategies for all project phases.
  • Lead and support safety studies including HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, and emergency response assessments.
  • Track, close, and verify actions from risk studies and safety reviews.
  • Review and approve safety‑related deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Support development of safety cases, barrier management programs, and ALARP demonstrations.
  • Provide safety inputs for tenders, design reviews, contractor oversight, and incident investigations.
  • Contribute to audits, pre‑start‑up safety reviews, commissioning checks, and lessons-learned activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 5 years in offshore projects.
  • Strong knowledge of international safety standards (ISO series, API, IEC, NFPA).
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies and safety design for offshore facilities (FPSO, topsides, pipelines).
  • Proficient in English; Spanish is an advantage.
