About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Material Technology Engineer to support a major offshore facilities development project. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on material selection, welding technologies, corrosion mechanisms, and performance standards to ensure the long-term integrity of structures and systems. This role will support engineering design phases, contractor supervision, risk assessments, and verification activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in material selection, material technology, welding methods, and corrosion assessment.
  • Develop and maintain performance standards for ensuring structural and system integrity.
  • Ensure all project and regulatory requirements are followed throughout the engineering process.
  • Review and monitor contractor material specifications and technical documentation.
  • Support tender processes, design verification, and engineering evaluations.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and other safety-related engineering reviews.
  • Contribute to risk workshops, engineering change management, and project planning activities.
  • Travel to contractor sites and offshore locations when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in material engineering within offshore, subsea, or pipeline projects.
  • Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms, welding standards, and material selection.
  • Experience with design, fabrication, and manufacturing of offshore or subsea structures.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish is an added advantage.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Strong knowledge of relevant international standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to assess material integrity, corrosion risks, and technical performance requirements.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-paced environments with multiple priorities.
