Senior Reporting Analyst

Purpose of the Role

To collect, analyze, and interpret data that provides actionable insights to support decision-making across the organization.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic analysis of data to identify trends, patterns, and variances.
  • Offer initial interpretations of report findings to help stakeholders understand performance.
  • Highlight key insights and potential areas for further investigation or action.
  • Design, develop, and maintain a variety of recurring and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to meet the needs of different business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define report requirements, including data sources, metrics, dimensions, and presentation formats.
  • Extract data from various internal systems and databases (e.g., ERP, CRM, data warehouses, spreadsheets) using SQL or other data querying tools.
  • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and validation to ensure data integrity and prepare it for reporting.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on how to access and interpret reports.
  • Gather feedback on reports and dashboards for continuous improvements.

 

Key Competences

  • Capable of utilizing reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Excel) to create visually appealing and user-friendly outputs.
  • Excellent analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

 

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 4-7 years of proven experience in an analytical or data-focused role.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, Power Query/Power Pivot, conditional formatting, charting).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
