About the Role

The Senior Manager, Procurement supports the Associate Director with oversight and management of spend optimization and operation of the procurement (sourcing) function within the Bank. The incumbent builds and maintains critical supplier relationships, negotiates deals with high complexity and supports ongoing monitoring requirements. The incumbent is the point person for all compliance queries, including regulatory, audit, governance and control, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure suppliers are continually adhering to Bank and regulatory standards. The incumbent deputises for the Associate Director as assigned / required.


About Success

  • Leads the negotiation strategy for critical and high complexity supplier agreements, confirming the underlying operational process is efficient and the spend profile is feasible.
  • Guides & coaches, the team to develop the expertise and industry best practices in vendor management in conjunction with the Associate Director, in areas including contracting and negotiating best practices.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve / enhance existing service level agreements / objective collaborating with stakeholders, including executives, contract owners, senior managers, Third-Party Risk Management, and parent company counterparts.
  • Manages the delivery of sourcing projects, including developing and implementing commodity metrics in supplier contracts aligned with business trends and practices, prioritising deliverables in conjunction with the Associate Director.
  • Creates & leads teams to address significant sourcing issues, working with stakeholders.

 

About You

  • Degree in a banking or business-related field, master’s an asset.
  • Project Management or Agile certification and / or knowledge of agile process / methodology.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management with at least 3 – 5 years in a leadership or senior management role.
  • Knowledge of legal principles dealing with contract language and requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading negotiations with suppliers to develop win / win strategic relationships, and to influence and manage competing interests.
  • Knowledge of ASP, SaaS or Cloud, and IT Services based contracts would be an asset.
  • Experience in local regulatory requirements and framework regarding outsourcing arrangements for financial institutions in the Caribbean.
