Role Overview: The Senior Manager, Procurement supports the Associate Director in managing the organisation’s procurement function, focusing on spend optimisation and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating complex deals, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and monitoring supplier performance. The role also serves as the main point of contact for compliance queries and deputises for the Associate Director as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads supplier negotiations for high-complexity agreements, ensuring efficiency, feasibility, and best value for business needs.
- Guides and coaches the team on vendor management best practices, contracting, and negotiation to strengthen supplier selection and contract management.
- Improves SLAs/SLOs by collaborating with stakeholders (including executives, contract owners, senior managers, Third-Party Risk Management, etc.) and monitoring vendor processes to enhance service delivery and compliance.
- Manages sourcing projects and implements supplier contract metrics, ensuring KPIs, regulatory, and risk requirements are met while controlling costs.
- Develops performance and quality management programs for key vendors to clarify responsibilities, maintain relationships, and ensure contract compliance.
- Creates & leads teams to address significant sourcing issues, working with stakeholders to agree on a resolution and to prevent risk exposure.
- Educates and supports stakeholders on policies and processes to improve contract standards and adherence.
- Collaborates with enterprise leaders to optimise suppliers, create value, and improve vendor service while managing risk.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in a Business Administration, Banking and Finance or other business-related field; Master’s is an asset.
- Project Management or Agile certification and / or knowledge of agile process / methodology
- 5-8 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management with at least 3 – 5 years in a leadership or senior management role
- Knowledge of legal principles dealing with contract language and requirements.
- Demonstrated success in leading negotiations with suppliers to develop win / win strategic relationships, and to influence and manage competing interests
- Knowledge of ASP, SaaS or Cloud, and IT Services based contracts would be an asset.
- Experience drafting various contract schedules (e.g., Scope of Work, SLA, etc.) is preferred but not necessary.
- Proven ability to manage enterprise supplier relationships – local, regional and international suppliers
- Experience in local regulatory requirements and framework regarding outsourcing arrangements for financial institutions in the Caribbean.
- Experience of working in complex, technical environments while collaborating with multiple vendors, partners and teams across and the business.
- Successfully managed change through cross-functional teams with specific objectives and timelines
