Senior IT & Multimedia Technician- Guardian Media Limited

The incumbent will be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all broadcast and IT related equipment including but not limited to broadcast automation systems, music scheduling systems, transmitters, switches and servers in the Operations Division.

Job Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all broadcast and IT related equipment including but not limited to broadcast automation systems, music scheduling systems, transmitters, switches and servers in the Operations Division.

Responsibilities:

1. Execute all IT and related functions, repairs and maintenance as Administrator for the complete Audiovault servers and network system, RCS Selector software, music software and other related duties.
2. Install, maintain, upgrade, calibrate and repair both hardware and software for all broadcast IT equipment within the broadcast chain.
3. Install, maintain, upgrade and repair all social media computers.
4. Responsible for wired and wireless internet distribution, installation, upgrade and repair.
5. Develop IT related processes that ensure On Air reliability of broadcast systems and facilitate full rollout to and understanding by the Team.
6. Lead installation, decommissioning and updating of all equipment in the broadcast chain.
7. Execute preventative maintenance checks and repairs on all equipment in the broadcast chain.
8. Execute routine checks at broadcast transmitter sites and provide timely comprehensive reports.
9. Execute routine checks, maintenance and repairs to the Company’s electronic billboards.
10. Analyze any identified issues and implement corrective measures to ensure the efficient operation of equipment.
11. Respond to call duty as per roster.
12. Execute routine checks and implement corrective measures on standby generators at transmitter sites.
13. Maintain equipment records.
14. Generate all required reports.
15. Ensure cleanliness of work areas such as the workshop and workbenches are kept tidy.
16. Any other multimedia duties that may be assigned by the Senior Engineer-Broadcast or Chief Engineer to ensure an efficient and dependable service.

Qualifications

• At least 5 CXC O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and Physics.
• Formal IT as evidenced by a Technical Diploma or Degree.
• EEET Diploma or Licensed Electrician.

Experience:

• Working knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing broadcast equipment.
• Proficient in MS Office suite.
• At least 5 years’ experience in Radio or TV Engineering.

Or any equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
