                                             Position: Senior Accounts Clerk (Remote - Work from Home)

                                                                  Reports to: Finance Manager

                                                                           Sector: Finance

                                                        Deadline date for submissions: 20th October 2025

                                                                    Salary: TT$12,000.00 / month

 

The Senior Accounts Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This role requires independent execution of accounting duties, adherence to strict deadlines, and timely delivery of financial information to support management decision-making

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Payments

  • Ensure vendor, intercompany and regulatory payments are verified and completed timely to avoid any penalty fees or reputational damage.
  • Liaise with the investment team to ensure sufficient bank balances are maintained for operational and investment needs
  • Verify that all expenses are correctly coded in the Finance System
  • Manage correspondence to banks on any queries
  • Prevent duplication in invoice settlement

2.       Reporting

  • Cash balance report is updated weekly for investment decisions
  • Intercompany report is updated weekly to ensure transactions are processed timely
  • Prepare various reports as requested by the Management team by stated deadlines.

3.       Reconciliations

  • Manage all month end reconciliations by Group deadlines as per Finance calendar
  • Manage all year end transactions by Group deadlines as per Finance calendar
  • Follow up on any action items advised by the management team

4.Audit

  • Assist with the accurate submission and verification of internal and external audit supports
  • Provide adhoc analysis of accounts to internal and external auditors upon request

5.Other

  • Maintain accurate digital filing system so supports can be retrieved with ease.
  • Assist with processing of banking orders
  • Overall supervision of Junior Accounting Clerks and foster collaborative team culture.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial files.
  • Validate the way in which the system operates and report all problems and potential improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures and controls.
  • Assist with other tasks as directed by the management team

SCOPE

The Senior Accounts Clerk reports to the Finance Manager and is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services. This includes processing and monitoring of payments, expenditures and reconciliation of various financial transactions. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that municipal finances are accurate and up to date, and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The Senior Accounts Clerk interacts with accounting Management and staff local and overseas within the company's subsidiaries and branches on matters pertaining to their duties

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

-        5 CSEC Passes inclusive of Mathematics and English.

-        A relevant degree and/or professional qualification (Associates or Bachelor of Science Degree in                                      Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or Management/ Level 2 ACCA).

- Three to Five years working experience in an Accounting position. 

-        Proficiency in Microsoft office and working knowledge of basic excel formulas

-        Experience with the Accounting Software SAGE and FIMMAS or similar applications

-        Good oral and written communication skills. 

-        Good analytical and organizational skills. 

-        Ability to multitask and perform under pressure

-        Sound accounting and financial knowledge

-        Ability to creatively solve problems

- Must be able to work independently and cooperate with the accounting team in order to operate effectively within             the accounting department.
