About the Role:
The Security Officer will provide security management support for all business units, which means being responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the security systems and processes at Island Grill. The Security Officer ensures the security of the Company's personnel, assets and facilities by developing and implementing security protocols, monitoring security systems and responding to security incidents.
- Develop and Implement Security Policies and Procedures: support the creation of policies and procedures and maintain comprehensive security plans and protocols to ensure the safety and security of the staff, equipment, assets and other resources.
- Monitor Security Systems: Regularly monitor security systems, such as CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems, to identify and respond to potential or realized security threats or breaches.
- Manage Access Control: Oversee and manage access control systems, including issuing and revoking access badges and managing access permissions.
- Conduct Security Audits and Risk Assessments: Perform regular security audits and risk assessments to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to security measures.
- Respond to Security Incidents: Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, accidents or emergencies, coordinating with internal departments and external security partners as required.
- Maintain Records: Maintain accurate records of security incidents, corrective actions and other relevant information relating to Security Service Providers.
- Vendor and External Relations: Oversee the contracted security team in the performance of their duties and liaise with the Regional and Zone Managers to ensure proper scheduling and the resolution of performance issues, work with property management and landlords regarding security-related concerns and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies to enhance security measures.
- Prepare Reports: Prepare regular security reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Assist with Emergency Preparedness: Participate in emergency preparedness drills and crisis response exercises to ensure readiness with a focus on any potential security threats.
- Investigate Security Incidents: Investigate security incidents and breaches, documenting findings and taking appropriate corrective actions.
- Training: Support the training and education of staff members on security policies, procedures and security awareness and other security-related matters.
- Incident/Accident Response Support: Provide support and guidance to departments and restaurants regarding the appropriate response to incidents and accidents.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management or equivalent
- Additional Professional Certifications would be an asset
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the military, law enforcement, private security or related field would be an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & PowerPoint)
