JOB SUMMARY

The Sales and Marketing Director plays a critical role in driving the company's revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction goals. This position is responsible for implementing strategies that directly influence financial performance and for leading the development of effective sales and marketing structures, processes, and teams to achieve measurable business results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that drives sustainable growth and directly supports the company’s long-term vision and competitive positioning
  • Lead market expansion initiatives, leveraging market intelligence, industry trends, and customer insights to deliver high-accuracy sales forecasts
  • Set ambitious yet achievable sales targets informed by forecasts and historical performance, ensuring alignment with production capacity and operational planning
  • Direct the development of annual sales and expense budgets that balance revenue growth ambitions with disciplined cost management and profitability goals
  • Establish and oversee a robust KPI framework for the Sales & Marketing organization, enabling performance transparency and data-driven decision-making
  • Attract, develop, and retain top commercial talent across all divisions, building a high-performance leadership bench that can deliver sustained growth.
  • Set clear targets and performance metrics for team members, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members to improve their sales skills and product knowledge.
  • Drive performance management and succession planning, fostering career growth and ensuring continuity in critical commercial roles.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to create improved collaboration leading to customer satisfaction and business growth
  • Continuously assess and improve customer satisfaction through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Identify and prioritize high-value customer segments, focusing on penetrating and retaining these segments.
  • Identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities, including partnerships, distribution networks, and online platforms to enhance the company’s market presence and revenue streams.
  • Develop and execute tactical plans to attain revenue targets.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine the sales process from lead generation to conversion to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement sales automation tools and technologies to streamline workflows.
  • Under the AR process providing timely approvals, proactive follow-ups, and strategic interventions to drive efficient collections and minimize outstanding receivables, achieving agreed AR performance targets.
  • Develop strategies to improve cash flow and reduce Days Sales Outstanding
  • Partner with supply chain and inventory leadership to ensure inventory levels strategically align with sales forecasts, market demand, and customer service objectives.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to guide replenishment, allocation, and distribution decisions that maximize product availability while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Champion proactive inventory management strategies to reduce slow-moving and obsolete stock, protecting margins and preserving working capital.
  • Work closely with the production department to align sales forecasts with production planning to meet market demand and avoid overproduction or underproduction.
  • Ensure effective communication between sales and production teams to synchronize efforts and achieve company goals.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in the sales process, such as commodity price fluctuations, competitor activity, customer delinquency, government policy or supply chain disruptions, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly business review meetings
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and other relevant metrics to the executive team.
  • Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and sales strategies and make necessary adjustments to improve results.
  • Participate in the development and support of the company’s strategic plans.
  • Promote safety awareness and the development of a Safety Culture within the company
  • Develop, implement, and continuously update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company objectives.
  • Comply with all Policies
  • Any other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field;
  • MBA is preferred.
  • Post Graduate Certification
  • 10 - 15 years of experience in sales and marketing; 7 years in a senior leadership or executive role.
  • Experience managing multi-regional or global teams and operations
