Support the coordination and execution of risk management activities of VMPM and the pensions funds

Job Summary

Support the coordination and execution of risk management activities of VMPM and the pensions funds under management to reduce negative risk exposures and where possible capitalize on positive risk exposures. This role includes AML/CFT compliance activities, as well as ensuring that the company’s systems, policies, procedures, and practices comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or any other related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience, preferably in a financial institution
  • FRM, CRM, PMI-RMP, CERA, CFA, CRISC, CIA, CAMS, FMVA or other related designation would be an asset
Duties & Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Ongoing monitoring of key risk indicators and risk exposures.
  • Conducts planned risk assessments and make recommendations for reduction of risk exposures outside of risk appetite
  • Assist with development and use of financial risk models to manage financial risk exposures.
  • Maintain risk registers
  • Evaluate exposures against the established limits.
  • Preparation of Enterprise Risk Management Reports and Financial Risk Reports
  • Assist with development of Risk Management Framework for Pension Plans

Quality Assurance

  • Quality assurance checks and reviews for key areas/processes within the company
  • Make recommendations for areas below the requisite quality assurance level

Compliance

  • Preparation and submission of key regulatory reports to Financial Services Commission and Financial Investigations Division
  • Preparation of internal compliance reports
  • Monitors timeliness of regulatory report submission
  • Monitors High Risk Customers including PEPS and conduct enhanced due diligence.
  • Assist with operational AML/CFT processes to include screening of clients
  • Completes AML/CFT due diligence questionnaires sent by local/overseas counterparties.

Training and Awareness

  • Supports Nominated officer with advising team members of changes to AML requirements, new regulations, and laws.
  • Issues advisories and tips to the VMPM team members on compliance regarding regulations.
  • Provides guidance and training to team members on AML requirement and oversees annual training.
  • Provides guidance and training to team members on risk management

Analysis and Solutions Definition

  • Reviews, document and analyzes agreed business processes to facilitate the identification of process inefficiencies.
  • Recommends solutions for greater organizational efficiency, productivity, and revenue generation.
  • Develops processes to meet new business needs.

Other Duties

  • Maintains the VMPM Policies and procedures repository and assist with the review of the Company’s Policies and Procedures
  • Monitors all audit points and compliance with audit deadlines.
  • Business Continuity Planning and simulations
Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge of requirements under the Pension and Securities Legislations
  • Good working knowledge of enterprise risk management concepts and practices, including risk identification, assessment, control activities, monitoring, and reporting; as well as standards and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suit of applications specifically, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to use and interpret organisational data systems to support planning and decision making
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to utilize a digital approach to problem solving by using digital tools to work productively and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of risk concepts and risk management practices
