As we continue to strengthen our enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance framework, we are seeking a highly analytical, ethically grounded, and proactive professional to join our leadership team as Risk & Compliance Officer.

This role plays a critical function in safeguarding the organization, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening risk awareness across the institution. 

The Role

The Risk & Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting the organization’s risk management and compliance framework, ensuring that policies, procedures, and operations align with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

Working closely with senior management, internal audit, and operational teams, the role ensures that risks are identified, monitored, and effectively mitigated across all business activities. 

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

• Assist in the development and maintenance of the organization’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework
• Conduct risk assessments across operational, credit, financial, and compliance areas
• Maintain and update the organizational risk register
• Monitor key risk indicators and emerging risks

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements governing financial institutions in Jamaica
• Monitor internal compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
• Support regulatory reporting and compliance documentation

Policy & Governance

• Assist with development and review of policies, procedures, and compliance controls
• Promote a culture of ethical conduct and regulatory awareness across the organization
• Provide compliance guidance to operational teams

Monitoring & Reporting

• Conduct compliance monitoring reviews across branches and departments
• Prepare risk and compliance reports for senior management
• Support internal audit and external regulatory reviews

Training & Awareness

• Support staff training initiatives on risk management, governance, and compliance practices 

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field
• Professional certification or studies toward CIA, ACCA, CPA, CAMS, or Risk Management qualifications is an asset
• 2–5 years’ experience in:

  • Risk Management
  • Compliance
  • Internal Audit
  • Financial Services Governance

• Experience within microfinance, banking, or financial services is highly desirable. 

Technical Knowledge

Strong understanding of:

-Risk management frameworks
-Internal control systems
-Regulatory compliance standards
-Financial institution governance practices
-Risk assessment and monitoring methodologies

-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and reporting tools is required.
