Our client is seeking an experienced Risk Analyst who has worked in the banking/finance sector. He/she will be involved in monitoring and implementing new processes and procedures associated with manual/automatic credit analysis. This is a contract position.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Risk Analyst is responsible for monitoring and implementation of new processes and procedures associated with manual/automatic credit analysis.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • At least four (4) years work experience in banking risk management, securities, and capital markets. 
  • Prior experience with management of policies, tools or procedures preferably credit cards (payment capacity, credit history, review and analysis of financial statements, among others).
  • Prior experience/knowledge of credit analysis, management of policies, tools or procedures, with respect to credit cards (payment capacity, credit history, review and analysis of financial statements, etc).
  • Prior experience of Process Management (PM) orientation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of credit policies
  • Knowledge of risk policy compliance.
  • Credit risk management.
  • Credit process.
  • Credit analysis for consumer clients (small and medium-sized SMEs (desirable)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring and implementing new processes and procedures associated with manual/automated credit analysis. (Support in some Project Management Methodology required)
  • Frequent communication and monitoring of leading indicators, updates, and adjustments.
  • Ability to coordinate and interact as interdisciplinary with Business, Technology, Credit Risk, and Fraud teams, as well as external suppliers.
  • Apply credit policy, regulations, current guidelines, and all related laws related to consumer credit operations.
  • Analyse applications/products of liabilities and assets, determine their historical behaviour, and be able to conclude credit granting based on account flows, credit nature, and other factors.
  • Analyse basic financial ratios of indebtedness, risk, and liquidity for consumer customer analysis, determine the current position of prospects/customers, and recommend credit granting.
  • Verify pre-qualified credit opportunities against the systems defined and authorized by the organization, in order to ensure proper approval of loans to be disbursed. SME clients.
  • Analyse credit card opportunities against the systems defined and authorized by the organization.
  • Analyse, interpret, and advise on strategic and financial information, both public and restricted, that allows for the preparation of reports with professional judgment so that management can make optimal decisions.
  • Execute analyses and studies commissioned by senior management and the various regulatory bodies with direct responsibility for the conclusions and recommendations generated.
  • Conduct ongoing research to identify, build, and maintain statistical databases and studies that provide a scientific basis for advice to senior management and various departments.
  • Prepare, review, analyse, and validate models that allow for the identification of risk management.
  • Monitor the control and oversight of the measures adapted for the operation of the risk assessment system, ensuring an adequate risk culture.
