Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Credit Risk team in the capacity of:
Retail Securities Associate
Provide administrative support to the department through the preparation and processing of security documents whilst maintaining custodial responsibilities for security documents in assigned portfolios at a level that will enhance the achievement of goals and objectives.
Location: Kingston
As a Retail Securities Associate, you will:
- Prepare and process mortgage transactions in keeping with the approved credit applications and established service level agreements, ensuring all fees are collected.
- Review approved credit applications and supporting documents.
- Verify that all pre-disbursement conditions are included in the documentation, where applicable, in accordance with the approved credit applications.
- Prepare all security documentation required in keeping with the approved credit applications and established service level agreements, ensuring all fees are collected.
- Peruse and ensure all pertinent information is recorded for security documents prepared by branches or units and are in keeping with the security recital in the approved credit applications.
- Calculate and ensure the collection of fees required for the processing, stamping and registration of credit facilities, with the correct accounts being credited.
- Process executed security documentation upon disbursement for assessment, stamping and registration at the relevant government agencies.
- Ensure stamping and registration of security documentation by government agencies is done within the specified timelines.
- Create and maintain security files.
- Prepare all relevant release documents for securities and letters to the relevant institutions to discharge the Bank’s interest upon request.
- Prepare contingent liabilities for the assigned branch/unit.
- Prepare securities and disbursement management/ regulatory reports for assigned portfolio.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Banking and Finance, Management Studies or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Experience in banking and financial services and completion of paralegal studies would be an asset.
- In-depth knowledge and training in security documentation and processing.
- Knowledge of established procedures for the execution/ perfection of security documents.
- Knowledge of the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
