Restaurant Shift Coordinator

A popular chain of quick-service restaurants is seeking an experienced and reliable Shift Coordinator to join its Operations team.  This role is ideal for a motivated leader with hands-on restaurant experience who can guide teams, maintain service standards, and ensure efficient shift operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Shift Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and direct crew members to ensure smooth shift operations.
  • Position team members effectively to ensure right person, right place, right time.
  • Organise crew breaks and meals, communicate shift goals, and address operational issues promptly.
  • Maintain food quality, safety, and cleanliness according to brand and local health standards.
  • Monitor efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Ensure fast, accurate order fulfilment and exceptional guest service.
  • Uphold brand service and product standards with urgency and professionalism.

Administration & Compliance

  • Perform cash handling and reconciliation duties.
  • Complete daily inventory checks, reports, logs, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Support waste management, cost control, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety protocols and Jamaican labour regulations.

Team Development & Support

  • Coach, mentor, and guide team members to improve performance.
  • Maintain discipline and escalate HR-related issues to management as required.
  • Ensure team compliance with health, safety, and hygiene requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Certification in Supervisory Management (required)
  • Certification in Inventory Management (an asset)
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Minimum 1 year experience at the team-member level in a restaurant or similar environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work effectively under pressure
  • Must be flexible, honest, reliable, and able to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts
