This role involves developing and implementing maintenance strategies, conducting failure analysis, and performing condition monitoring to prevent equipment downtime, enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with awarded contractors for project planning, procurement of materials, scheduling, value engineering, and progress reporting.
  • Develop project scopes, detailed estimates, and planning for maintenance and reliability projects.
  • Manage projects, ensuring alignment with production schedules and safety requirements.
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities, including repairs on all plant equipment. 
  • Oversee the execution of a preventive maintenance program, ensuring thoroughness and minimal downtime of all equipment.
  • Update, maintain, existing preventative maintenance program for the facility. 
  • Plan, lead, and participate in plant turnarounds.
  • Plan and manage the flange/joint integrity program.
  • Ensure timely procurement of machinery, tools, and spare parts, optimizing inventory for readiness and cost.
  • Investigate and analyze equipment failures to implement corrective actions from root cause analysis.
  • Analyze historical data to identify patterns and optimize maintenance strategies for increased reliability.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze Condition-Based Monitoring data to detect early signs of wear, corrosion, or potential failures.
  • Provide technical assistance to on-site teams, guiding them through diagnostics and repair tasks.
  • Ensure that troubleshooting efforts and maintenance activities are accurately documented for compliance and reference purposes.
  • Update and organize all maintenance records, ensuring that they are accessible and up to date for audit and operational purposes.
  • Ensure all maintenance procedures meet industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to maintenance activities and participate in safety audits.
  • Ensure a safe workplace by complying with safety standards and participating in safety programs.
  • Identify opportunities for cost-effective solutions, such as predictive maintenance tools or energy-efficient equipment.
  • Regularly review and optimize maintenance processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Provide training and mentorship to on-site teams to improve their maintenance skills.
  • Be available to address emergencies that arise when off-site, coordinating rapid-response actions.
  • Ensure that emergency procedures for critical equipment are clearly defined and practiced.
  • Manage relationships with equipment suppliers, maintenance contractors, and third-party service providers.
  • Work closely with operations and other technical teams to align maintenance activities with production schedules and safety requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as directed/ assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certificates in Fundamentals of Rotating Machines and Project Management for Business Professionals will be an asset. 

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in maintenance engineering in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation sectors.
  • Experience with planning and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance programs remotely and onsite.
  • Offshore or remote facility support experience (preferably on MOPUs or FPSOs) will be considered an asset.
