Reports To: Regional Sales Manager / Chief Commercial Officer.
Travel Required: 70-80% (regional travel throughout the Caribbean)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Regional Sales Representative to lead commercial development initiatives across the Caribbean.
Based in Trinidad, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing key customer relationships, and promoting the company’s full suite of shipping, logistics, and freight solutions.
This role requires a deep understanding of regional trade dynamics, logistics operations, and the ability to close business across multicultural and multi-jurisdictional markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development:
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across key Caribbean markets.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts to increase wallet share and client retention.
- Promote multimodal logistics services including ocean freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, inland transportation, customs brokerage, warehousing, and supply chain solutions.
- Self-motivated, Proactive, with a strong work ethic & leadership.
- Multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work closely with team members across the Caribbean region.
- Capable of thinking analytically and creatively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, experience with Shipping systems.
- Solid experience in lead qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for clients across the region.
- Conduct regular client visits and virtual engagements to understand needs and ensure service excellence.
- Prepare and deliver tailored proposals and commercial presentations.
- Market Intelligence & Strategy:
- Monitor regional trade trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs.
- Provide input into pricing strategy, marketing campaigns, and service development.
- Collaborate with internal departments (operations, customer service, finance) to ensure end-to-end solution delivery.
- Sales Reporting & Targets:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs.
- Maintain CRM records, pipeline updates, and market feedback reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts for the region.
- Provide weekly sales reports including detailed customer updates/feedback.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or related fields.
- Proven sales track record in regional or international markets.
- Strong knowledge of Caribbean trade routes, customs regulations, and port operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel frequently within the Caribbean.
Preferred:
- Degree or diploma in Business, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- Experience working with global carriers, NVOCCs, or third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Multilingual capabilities (Spanish/French) a plus but not required.
