The Regional Credit Manager assists the Credit Regional Director in the management of the Company’s credit portfolio via effective credit risk and collections management, and support to the credit-granting function.

POSITION: Regional Credit Manager – Caribbean
REPORTS TO: Regional Credit Director - Caribbean
SUPERVISION GIVEN TO: Regional Business Development Officer, Regional Project Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of credit systems, policies and procedures related to portfolio management, collections and credit granting for Unicomer Caribbean.
  • Recommend and implement changes to Credit Underwriting and Collections strategies to maintain and improve the risk profile of the Hire Purchase and Cash Loan portfolios in line with strategic objectives.
  • Assist in establishing procedures and guidance for the Credit Underwriting and Collections management functions.
  • Monitor the performance metrics for Unicomer Caribbean and take corrective action as needed.
  • Work with the Regional Financial Products Manager on activities to increase customer base and the CL/HP portfolio.
  • Analyse critical areas of the credit portfolio and produce relevant reports that identify key factors and trends impacting portfolio performance as well as areas for business development.
  • Work closely with Regional Heads to expand new business initiatives throughout the region.
  • Assist with credit review and approval for specially assigned accounts.
  • Work with Human Capital to ensure all collections and credit granting touchpoint resources are adequately trained.
  • Administer Credit Portfolio Reviews.
  • Provide management support to local markets as needed.
  • Produce management reports as required periodically.
  • Complete annual reviews for all subordinates.
  • Ensure the development of training programs for all direct reports in in line with yearly KPI.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Tertiary level education, preferably a degree in Business, Management Studies or Finance
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of three (3) years Credit Management experience in a management capacity within a large consumer credit environment.
  • Strong internal and external Customer Service skills.
  • Computer literate and numerate.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in training and coaching.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Negotiation and report writing skills.
