The Receptionist serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately. Interacts with visitors by answering or referring inquiries.

Duties:

  1. Greet visitors;
  2. Collects and distributes messages;
  3. Collects and signs for incoming mails;
  4. Process incoming or outgoing packages & deliveries.
  5. Assists with mail sorting and date stamping when necessary;
  6. Dispatch cheques daily (Claims, General & Eppley cheques)
  7. Daily registration of Underwriting and Claims clients in 4D database according to established protocols;
  8. Assists walk in clients with forms and notify the appropriate personnel;
  9. Contacts the Cashier and advises when a client is coming in to make payment;
  10. Monitor and report on the tidiness of Reception/Customer Service area when necessary;
  11. Directs client’s complaints to the respective department Manager when necessary.
  12. Obtains caller's name and forwards call or takes message for person called upon.
  13. All messages should be recorded in either the telephone message book, or send the individual an email;
  14. Operate PBX telephone console to receive calls and make calls for staff members;
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  1. Excellent listening and comprehension skills;
  2. An adaptable style that is comfortable within a high-energy, action-oriented culture;
  3. Knowledge of using a computer and PBX systems;
  4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  5. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment;
  6. The ability to build effective collaborative relationships with a customer focus mindset.

Education and Experience:

  • Five CSEC/CXC subjects inclusive of English Language;
  • At least two years of related experience required;
  • A certificate in Customer Service would be an asset
