The Quality Officer is responsible for leading routine quality assurance and control initiatives that support the Production Teams in delivering high-quality products efficiently. The Quality Officer also ensures that all staff adhere to established Food Safety and Quality Standards.

Location: San Juan/Barataria

Salary: $7,000.00 to $8,000.00 (maximum)

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Implement and maintain food safety and quality management systems, including:
    • Evaluation and management of product non conformances
    • Product traceability and controls for non-conforming materials
    • Equipment calibration and certification schedules
    • HACCP inspections, GMP protocols, and cleaning/sanitation monitoring
    • Food safety plan validation and training
    • Supply chain, chemical, pest control, water/air quality, and waste management oversight
    • Analystical and Environment Pathogen Testing (EPTP)
    • Maintain accurate quality records and ensure timely reporting
  2. Maintain accurate quality records and ensure timely reporting of deviations or risks.
  3. Lead investigations  and implement corrective actions for production non-conformances and customer complaints.
  4. Conduct internal and external audits, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with production and operations teams to maintain a culture of quality and safety. 
  6. Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • BSc. in Chemistry, Food Science and/or related discipline.
  • M.Sc. in Food Chemistry or Food Science and Technology will be an asset. 
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Food Manufacturing or Food Service.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and GMP in the food industy.
  • General knowledge of quality management principles and research methodology.
  • Computer Literate in Microsoft Office Suite.
