Quality Control Officer - Ansa Packaging

To assist in cost-effectively achieving process improvement, enhancing product quality, and safety, and maximizing customer satisfaction by planning, administering, coordinating, implementing, and auditing the Company’s Quality and Food Safety Management System (QFSMS).

JOB SUMMARY:

To assist in cost-effectively achieving process improvement, enhancing product quality, and safety, and maximizing customer satisfaction by planning, administering, coordinating, implementing, and auditing the Company’s Quality and Food Safety Management System (QFSMS).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Maintain the documentation system at CGL by reviewing/developing, controlling, and implementing procedures, records, work instructions, and specification sheets in accordance with Quality and Food Safety standards.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of appropriate Quality and Food Safety Systems for the Company.
• Maintain the document control, non-conformance and corrective action logs by continuously updating and following up on overdue items.
• Review the effectiveness of implemented corrective and improvement actions using a data-oriented approach.
• Ensure that all administrative aspects of QFSMS audit activities are compiled, implemented, and have closure.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of staff on matters of quality, food safety, and problem-solving.
• Assist in developing and maintaining effective media for informing, updating, and receiving input from employees on quality and food safety matters.
• To comply with the Company’s/ Department’s procedures and policies relating to the QFSMS and the Health, Safety & Environmental Management System.
• To fulfil the legal duties of the Occupational Safety & Health Act 2004 as an employee.

 QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, food science, Engineering or another related field from a recognized, accredited institution or related discipline would be an asset.
• Formal training in but not limited to Risks, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, Quality and Food Safety Management and Auditing principles.
• At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in a similar position and engagement with all levels of an organization.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry and Critical Control Points (CCPs) would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of the principles and philosophy of Total Quality Management, process improvement techniques, systematic thinking and scientific and statistical tools.
• Self-driven, goal-oriented, excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication and presentation skills, inclusive of but not limited to Microsoft Suite, Power BI (Dashboard Reporting)
• ISO 9001/ FSSC 22000 Internal/ Lead Auditor, HACCP and/or related QFSMS training considered an asset.
