Quality Assurance Technician

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting in-process and general testing of materials and products, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and supporting the overall quality management system.

IN-PROCESS TESTING / GENERAL TESTING

• Lab Shift Report Preparation: Prepare lab shift report.
• Standard Solutions Preparation: Prepare standard solutions for the use in testing materials and labels.
• Testing and Analysis: Perform required testing as outlined in work procedures and analyze and interpret results and make evaluations as required and record all findings in the appropriate documents or systems e.g. test sheets, radius.
• Authorized to stop the production lines when required
• Work with the Quality Supervisor, Officer or designate to make decisions for all label products whether accepted or rejected.
• Troubleshooting: Participate in troubleshooting problems encountered in raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
• Sample Collection: Collect samples as outlined in the Sampling Plan, for all Label Manufacturing areas.
• Assisting in testing of all raw materials or special project testing as required.
• Use of Radius supplier test module for reports on raw material testing results.

QUALITY/ FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

• Non-Conformance Management: Raise non-conformances within the Radius Non-conformance Reports module when required based on findings of in-process results. Document all products placed on hold or rejected on relevant documentation.
• Initial Investigations: Ensure initial investigations are completed and findings are recorded on all relevant documentation.

• Audits: Assist with internal audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality and food safety programs, including HACCP, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
• Support Group quality and food safety initiatives.

JOB APPROVALS

• Proofreading Samples: Proofread printed samples for placement and text content.
• Job Bag Review: Review job bags for “what to match” before scheduled production and update X-rite database, as necessary ensuring we have existing standards for upcoming jobs.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating the X-rite IQC and Colour Master database for new jobs.
• Print Sample Approval: Approve print samples within approved customer specification and enter approved standards onto Nikka Software.
• Colour Matching: Match printed samples for colour with last print and/or approved customer sample.
• Prepare sample booklets and sheets as required.

PRODUCT RELEASE

• Quality Certificates: Review and prepare certificates of quality for all products as required.
