The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of all necessary materials and equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring our operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies and policies to ensure value and efficiency.
Manage the entire procurement process, from identifying needs and sourcing suppliers to negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery.
Source, evaluate, and build strong relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers to negotiate the best prices, quality, and terms.
Analyze market trends and pricing to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels, preventing both shortages and overstocking.
Collaborate with department heads to understand their procurement needs and ensure all purchases align with budget and operational requirements.
Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and resolve any quality or delivery issues.
Prepare and process purchase orders and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management role.
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity is highly desirable.
Demonstrated expertise in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
High proficiency in procurement software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
