• Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Psychiatry
• Registration with the Medical Council of Jamaica
• Two (2) years relevant post-registration experience and acceptable post-graduate qualification in Psychiatry.
• In-depth knowledge of the principles and methods of psychiatry
• Knowledge of current trends and techniques in the treatment and management of psychiatric illnesses.
• Understanding of social issues and how they impact mental health
• Sound knowledge of Public Health Laws and Regulations and the Mental Health Act
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
