Psychiatrist (Sessional)
The psychiatrist is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders through clinical evaluation, medication management and therapeutic interventions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Psychiatry
- Registration with the Medical Council of Jamaica
- Two (2) years relevant post-registration experience and acceptable post-graduate qualification in Psychiatry.
- In-depth knowledge of the principles and methods of psychiatry
- Knowledge of current trends and techniques in the treatment and management of psychiatric illnesses.
- Understanding of social issues and how they impact mental health
- Sound knowledge of Public Health Laws and Regulations and the Mental Health Act
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
