Reporting to the CEO and working closely with all department managers, this role is responsible overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the production process to deliver products on time, within budget and at the required quality standards.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer requirements and adjust workflows for maximum efficiency while minimizing costs.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Collaborate with the sales department to adjust production levels to keep up with changing demand.
  • Use  in-house production software to plan daily production targets and record actual production done.
  • Resource Management: Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials efficiently, manage inventory levels, and optimize resource utilization to reduce waste.
  • Analyse production figures to report on line efficiencies.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Maintain product quality standards, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions to address defects or inefficiencies.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise production teams, provide coaching, conduct meetings, and ensure staff are trained in safety and quality protocols.
  • Recruit and train new employees and conduct follow-up training for existing employees
  • Review and report on employee performance.
  • Manage performance and disciplinary issues as they arise.
  • Process Optimization: Identify production bottlenecks, adopt new techniques, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, regular maintenance and upgrades.
  • Work closely with maintenance to monitor, maintain and optimise the output of each production line by carefully monitoring output and equipment capabilities.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to government regulations, environmental standards, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Reporting and Coordination: Monitor production metrics, analyze performance data, and communicate progress or issues to senior management; collaborate with departments such as factory operations, warehouse, sales and finance;
  • Carry our any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
