Production Engineer Trainee

The position is an entry-level position designed to provide hands-on experience and training in the production and engineering field. The role focuses on supporting the production process, learning about manufacturing systems, and assisting in improving production efficiency and product quality.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in analysing and improving production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure all FG reconciled before handed over to Warehouse and ensure all applicable reports are updated accordingly.
• Support Moulding Manager/Continuous improvement team members in monitoring process parameters for all Moulding machines, ensuring that processes are running smoothly.
• Assist with performing monthly and weekly internal counts
• Ensure variances investigated and reconciled before the next scheduled count.
• Preparation of documentation for all raw material changes on machines.
• Assist with ongoing efforts to optimize product formulations.
• Create and update recipe database for all timers on machines.
• Apply various tools and techniques to troubleshoot production issues that affect machine reliability and efficiency and quality.
• Monitor changeovers, such as setting up, testing, and optimizing equipment or machinery.
• Participate in auditing quality control processes to ensure products meet required specifications and standards.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to production processes, machinery, and operational procedures.
• Work closely with other departments, including maintenance, planning, supply chain, and quality assurance, to coordinate production schedules and resolve operational challenges.
• Collaborate with team members in the design and implementation of process improvements.
• Liaise with external customers/contractors/suppliers as and when necessary.
• Compliance with Ansa Polymer and Ansa McAL Group Policies.
• Ensure all inputs in the ERP system for production are completed accurately and on time.
• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies/ procedures.
• Assist on any committees/groups/taskforces that may be formed to deal with specific issues, and any other duties/responsibilities that may be assigned by your immediate Supervisor.
• Perform any other duties as required by the job function.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Sc. in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Background in Computer Science would be an asset.
• Any Experience would be an Asset.
• Must be able to analyse and synthesize information to understand issues to make recommendations.
• Collaborative with the ability to be a key team player and possess good interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to effectively plan and execute minor project-based activities.
• Ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas clearly using oral, written, visual and non-verbal communications skills.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics and flow charts.
• Attention to detail and must be detail-oriented when inspecting and executing tasks.
• Resilient and the ability to work effectively under pressure without becoming flustered.
• Ability to organise work so that tasks assigned are completed on time, prioritize projects and communicate progress to supervisors and colleagues.
• Required to sit for long periods in front of a computer screen.
• Bending may be required.
• Be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Required to work after normal hours when necessary.
