To support the production department in maintaining optimal performance within the manufacturing end-to-end process, through adherence to manufacturing instructions, quality standards and budgeted costs, making use of best practices within the industry..

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Analysis

  1. Review and analyze daily, the relevant material usage reports within the production environment, with a key emphasis on material usage variances (raw & packaging).
  2. Flag materials with variance levels above standard, investigate on shop floor, define corrective actions and monitor improvement.
  3. Enter data from operator log sheets (packaging) and calculate overall plant OEE daily.
  4. Identify productivity, process improvement and cost savings opportunities from review of the OEE daily reports and the material usage reports.

Continuous Improvement

  1. Lead cross functional and cross departmental root cause analysis projects targeted towards (1) material usage variance reduction (raw & packaging) and (2) process improvement with focus on operational stoppages.
  2. Present routine project updates to department heads, highlighting for each project scope target achievement and next steps.
  3. Perform routine verification of costing standards versus actual production runs.
  4. Drive other continuous improvement initiatives as required.
  5. Develop and conduct compliance audits within production to continuously drive alignment to operating procedures.

Stock Reconciliation

  1. Participate in material reconciliation stock checks as required.
  2. Lead end of month stock count within production department.
  3. Lead monthly stock reconciliation, with accountability of usage variances.

 Job Specification

 Education                                Diploma or Bachelor level in Business, Engineering or a related

                                                field

                                                Six Sigma Certification is a plus

                                                 &/or

Experience                              Minimum three (3) years experience in a similar capacity.

- Ability to read & analyze information

- Excellent time management

- Knowledge of inventory control

- Ability to lift heavy materials

- Licensed to drive Forklift
